Desde Portland, Oregon, Portugal. The Man nos tenía acostumbrados a editar un disco por año desde su formación. Y si en el 2006 fue Waiter: “You Vultures!”, para el 2007 llegó el Church Mouth. En el 2008 sería Censored Colors y para el 2009 The Satanic Satanist. En el 2010 llegaría American Ghetto y en el 2011 In the Mountain in the Cloud. Este sería el primer momento en el que el grupo conformado por John Gourley, Zachary Carothers, Kyle O’Quin, Eric Howk y Jason Sechrist se tomarían la primera pausa de un año, para trabajar en Evil Friends, que editarían en el 2013.
Sin embargo, Portugal. The Man tardaría cuatro años en sacar un nuevo disco, el cuál conoceríamos hasta este año bajo el titulo de Woodstock. ¿La historia? En efecto está relacionada con el festival pero no de la forma en la que nos gustaría pensar, sino de una de esas desgracias que nos parecen increíbles; el álbum surge cuando John Gourley visita a su padre y se encuentra con un boleto que su papá ¡NUNCA UTILIZÓ para ir a Woodstock! Y ahí comienza toda la aventura….
“Feel It Still” fue el single insignia de este disco, el cuál se ha encargado de poner a Portugal. The Man entre las bandas que han marcado musicalmente este 2017, al punto que la canción ha sido utilizada por Apple en comerciales del iPad Pro, así como por Vitamin Water y Youtube Tv.
Así que a festejar que es viernes y a subirle a “Feel it Still”.
