Puede ser que a muchos les caiga gordo (todo genio tiene sus opositores), pero nadie puede decir que nunca ha escuchado algo de Noel Thomas David Gallagher. Ya sea por sus grandes composiciones, constantes polémicas declaraciones o diversas colaboraciones, “The Chief” (como se le apoda gracias al gran control que tuvo sobre su ex banda, Oasis) se ha encargado de hacerse notar desde la década de los 90 en la escena musical.
Un día como hoy (29 de mayo), pero de 1967, Noel Gallagher nació en Longsight, Manchester, y aunque nadie lo sospechaba, ese pequeño niño problemático que creció siendo expulsado de escuelas y teniendo conflictos con las autoridades logró convertirse en máximo exponente de un género musical que ha inspirado a miles de bandas que conocemos hoy en día: el Britpop.
La trayectoria artística de Noel ya todos se la saben: él mismo se enseñó a tocar la guitarra a los 13 años, en 1991 entró como principal compositor y guitarrista a la banda de su hermano Liam (The Rain, misma que se convertiría después en Oasis), después de 7 discos de estudio y una gran carrera con Oasis, Noel dejó la banda y comenzó a enfocarse al 100% en su trabajo solista…pero durante toda esta trayectoria, Chief nos ha deleitado con asombrosas composiciones, memorables entrevistas televisivas y polémicas frases.
