Este domingo 27 de marzo, se lleva a cabo la edición 94 de los premios de la Academia. A pesar del tiempo, las tantas ceremonias para celebrar al cine y las controversias (es justo decirlo), los Oscar se mantienen relevantes al dictar el recorrido que llevará la industria en los próximos años entre aquellas películas que llamarán más la atención, las que triunfarán en taquilla, las que se quedarán un poco más ocultas y las ganadoras de estatuillas.
Para bien o para mal, dicho esto, los Oscar en su edición 2022 celebran películas que en otras circunstancias (finalmente, 2021 sufrió algunos estragos de la crisis sanitaria) quizá no habrían alcanzado el nivel de popularidad o un lugar entre lo “mejor” del cine en un año. Y no nos malentiendan, pero entre las nominadas hubo muchísimas sorpresas y ausencias que nos siguen dejando dudas.
Por ejemplo, la presencia de CODA entre algunas de las categorías más importantes como Mejor Película, fue extraña, pero con el tiempo ha tomado fuerza al grado de que muchos críticos y especialistas le apuestan a que será la máxima ganadora. Esto frente una cinta más conocida entre la Academia como The Power of the Dog que, incluso, es la más nominada de la edición. Y desde luego, no podemos dejar de mencionar las ausencias de Denis Villenevuve en la categoría de Mejor Director por su trabajo en Dune, la segunda más nominada, o de una cinta como Tick, Tick… Boom! entre las principales.
Lo único que podemos adelantar es que será un año lleno de sorpresas que dejen satisfechos a los espectadores, algunas que incomoden y otras que de verdad nos llenen de asombro.
